On August 5, 2025, Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon instructed officials to eliminate all utility obstacles that are impeding the Red Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project by September 15.
During a meeting with key stakeholders, Memon reviewed a comprehensive progress update and stressed the importance of taking swift action to avoid any delays in this essential public transport initiative for Karachi.
The meeting aimed to address utility-related challenges, specifically the relocation of infrastructure that is blocking the BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) corridor. Memon directed the Water Board to prioritise the completion of a 2.7-kilometre pipeline for the K-IV water project within this corridor. “All utilities must be relocated by September 2025,” he emphasised, adding, “The Red Line BRT is essential, and we cannot tolerate any further delays.”
