Ronnie Winter, frontman of the alternative rock band Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, announced a permanent ban on Donald Trump voters attending his concerts.
In a video posted on the band’s Instagram on June 14, 2025, Winter emphasised his commitment to inclusivity and criticised Trump supporters, particularly Christians, for their political choices.
Winter addressed Trump voters directly, stating, “If you voted for Donald Trump, do not come to my shows—forever, not just these four years.” He singled out Christian supporters, saying, “If you’re Christian and voted for Donald Trump, shame on you. You are not allowed to come to my shows.” He highlighted the band’s values, promising “acceptance from all areas of life and races” and “harmony” at concerts, which he believes clash with Trump supporters’ views.
Referencing the band’s hit “Face Down” from 2006, Winter declared, “It’s not your song.” He offered refunds to Trump voters, urging them not to attend. The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, known for their 2006 debut album Don’t You Fake It, last released an album in 2018.

Winter proudly embraced the term “woke,” responding to past critics of his liberal stance. “The thing about being woke is you’re awake, and once you’re awake, you can never sleep,” he said. He claimed that “woke” predictions about the country’s decline under Trump have proven accurate, reinforcing his stance against Trump voters.
Winter joins other artists opposing Trump’s second term, which began in January 2025. Bruce Springsteen, for instance, has criticised the administration during his world tour, calling it “corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous.” Such statements reflect a broader trend among musicians using their platforms to address political divides, though Winter’s outright ban on a specific audience segment stands out for its intensity.

The announcement has sparked debate. Some fans praise Winter’s commitment to his values, while others argue the ban alienates a portion of the band’s audience. Posts on X show mixed sentiments, with some users supporting the band’s stance and others calling it divisive. Music industry analyst Sarah Thompson noted, “Artists like Winter are taking bold risks, but alienating fans in a polarised climate could impact ticket sales.” The band’s Instagram comments reflect similar divides, with some fans applauding and others vowing to boycott.
Fans planning to attend Red Jumpsuit Apparatus shows should expect a politically charged atmosphere that emphasises inclusivity. Those disagreeing with Winter’s views may consider alternative bands or seek refunds. Rather than spreading unverified claims, engaging in respectful dialogue about the band’s stance fosters constructive discussion.
