Rockstar Games has announced the forthcoming release of Red Dead Redemption across multiple new platforms. The acclaimed Western title will arrive on Netflix Games for mobile devices while receiving native versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, and Nintendo Switch 2.
The comprehensive release scheduled for December 2, 2025, will also include the game’s addition to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalogue. This expansion follows previous ports to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC in recent years.
The new platform releases will include the complete Red Dead Redemption experience alongside the popular Undead Nightmare expansion. Additionally, players will receive bonus content originally featured in the Game of the Year Edition.
Cross-platform save functionality will enable players to transfer their progress from previous-generation consoles. This feature maintains continuity for existing fans transitioning to new hardware.

The mobile version represents a significant development for Netflix Games’ expanding library. Subscribers will access the full game through their existing Netflix membership without additional purchase requirements.
Netflix has steadily enhanced its gaming portfolio with premium titles, including Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy and Hades. Red Dead Redemption will feature mobile-optimized control schemes designed specifically for touchscreen interfaces on Android and iOS devices.
Current-Generation Console Enhancements
The native PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X versions will deliver substantial technical improvements. These include 60 frames-per-second performance, enhanced image quality, High Dynamic Range support, and resolutions up to 4K.

Nintendo Switch 2 owners will experience similar enhancements with HDR support, DLSS technology, and specialized Joy-Con 2 controller compatibility. These improvements represent significant upgrades over previous console versions.
Current owners of Red Dead Redemption on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, or Xbox One will qualify for free upgrades to the new versions. This consumer-friendly approach follows industry trends toward supporting previous purchasers.
PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 users can seamlessly transfer their saved game data from earlier platforms. This continuity ensures players maintain their progress while transitioning to enhanced editions. Rockstar Games developed the current-generation versions in partnership with Double Eleven and Cast Iron Games. The title will also join the GTA+ Games Library alongside its PlayStation Plus Catalogue availability.
