In the never-ending race for the most skillful soccer player, Real Madrid, the Spanish powerhouse and Champions League titleholder, which has stars like Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, added the young Colombian James Rodríguez on Tuesday.

Rodríguez, 23, was a breakout star in the World Cup in Brazil, taking Colombia to the quarterfinals and winning the Golden Boot as the FIFA World cup’s top goal scorer (six). In a poll released by FIFA Monday, his volley against Uruguay in the Round of 16 was voted the best goal of the tournament by more than four million voters.

Two Spanish newspapers, Marca and As, reported on Tuesday that Real Madrid had paid the French club Monaco a transfer fee of about $108 million.
