Atlanta rapper YFN Lucci has pleaded guilty in a Fulton County racketeering case. Bennett was indicted in May 2021, among others, in a detailed 105-count indictment linked to the Bloods gang.
Channel 2’s Michael Seiden reported Bennett’s plea agreement in court on Tuesday. He admitted guilt to one count under the Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act. Initially, Bennett faced several serious charges, including felony murder, with life imprisonment possible.
The prosecution suggested a 20-year sentence, with 10 years in prison. Bennett’s plea deal includes credit for time served since January 13, 2021. The state also agreed not to oppose his parole.
Bennett, who served three years, could be paroled in a few months. If paroled, he will complete his sentence on probation.
Before sentencing, Bennett apologized to the victim’s family, his own family, friends, and the court.
His defence team stated that after extensive pretrial activity and three years in jail, the murder and RICO charges were dropped. They affirmed Bennett’s refusal to cooperate in other cases.
This plea deal could make Bennett parole-eligible in four months. His lawyers noted this chance for early parole would reunite him with his family and career.
The Fulton County District Attorney’s office has not commented on the plea.
Bennett’s notable work includes his 2016 “Key to the Streets” hit with Migos.
