Travis Scott, the well-known rapper, was arrested in Paris while attending the 2024 Olympic Games, following a physical altercation outside his luxury hotel just hours after the USA’s men’s basketball semi-final victory over Serbia.
The arrest took place in the early hours of Friday, August 9, when Scott, whose legal name is Jacques Bermon Webster, engaged in a fight with a security agent at the George V Hotel. Paris police intervened and detained him near the famous Champs-Elysees.
According to the Paris Prosecutor’s Office, “Police were called to the scene at the George V hotel and arrested Travis Scott for violence against a security agent, who had been trying to separate him from his bodyguard.”
Local media reported that Scott was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the altercation. “He was not in a condition to be questioned immediately,” a source informed DailyMail.com, adding that he was placed in a cell to sober up. He is suspected of committing violence against another person.
This marks Scott’s second arrest in 2024, following an earlier incident on a yacht in Miami. During that event, he was also reported to be intoxicated and was detained overnight at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
Scott was in Paris on August 10 to support the United States in their upcoming men’s basketball final against France.
