Rangers release Farooq Sattar, Khawaja Izhar

Rangers released Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s senior leaders Farooq Sattar and MPA Khajawa Izhar-ul-Hassan.

According to MQM sources, Farooq Sattar may announce his party’s future course of action at a press conference today evening.

Yesterday, Rangers arrested MQM’s top leadership in Karachi, including Farooq Sattar after the party workers attacked two media houses and Samaa’s DSNG following party chief Altaf Hussain’s address from in London.

MQM workers also clashed with police on the streets, sparking volleys of gunshots and tear gas in several places across the city.

Dozens of men and women barging into ARY’s office, smashing doors, windows and equipment with rods and batons and setting fire to several vehicles.

Rangers also raided MQM headquarters Nine Zero and other party buildings in Karachi and other cities of Sindh late last night, and sealed the party offices.

DG Rangers and Chief Minister Sindh visited media houses and ensured security to media persons. (PhotoNews/Agencies)
