On March 6, 2025, the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) of Karachi’s Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) nabbed Constable Rana Kashif, accused of masterminding a gang that snatched luxury cars from the city’s posh areas.
The Rana Kashif arrest unmasks a rogue cop tied to high-profile heists, including the vehicle of a TV actress, shaking Pakistan’s crime scene.
Police say Kashif’s gang hit ritzy spots like DHA and Korangi, snagging over two dozen vehicles—many sold off in Balochistan. Key hauls include a high-end ride from Korangi on June 26, 2024, another from DHA on October 7 (later found in Quetta), and a pricey four-wheeler owned by a famous actress, swiped February 6 from Khayaban-e-Mohafiz. A Ferozabad theft last year also traces back to him. Kashif, stationed at the Foreign Security Cell, confessed to it all.

The AVLC seized official weapons and drugs from Kashif, cementing his downfall. His accomplice Ayub, nabbed after a Quetta shootout, helped flip the script. “He ran the show—sold cars through a network,” police said. Raids are now underway to snag his crew and recover more stolen rides as the Rana Kashif arrest ripples through investigations.
The Rana Kashif arrest blends cop corruption with celeb crime, 24+ luxury cars, a TV star’s loss, and a Balochistan trail.
