Former Pakistan cricket Board (PCB) chairman and cricketer Ramiz Raja suggested that Karachi Kings must overhaul its administration and coaches to turn their HBL Pakistan Super League fortunes around (PSL).
Wasim Akram has served as the organization’s president from PSL 4’s inception. During PSL games, he is regularly observed in the dugout with the players. Moreover, he coaches the franchise’s bowlers.
After losing by six runs to Quetta Gladiators on Saturday, Karachi Kings, who finished last in the previous season’s points standings, suffered their third consecutive loss in the eighth edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League.
Raja told a local television station that they must decide to make changes if they don’t place in the top three this season. Since they have been operating under the same management for so long, the Karachi Kings need to alter their mentors and think tanks.
He stated, “If no improvements are made, mediocrity will ensue, which would ultimately be detrimental to the Pakistan Super League.
Akram blasted Raja in an exclusive interview with Cricket Pakistan last month.
“Ramiz came for six days; he has returned to his native place. Wasim remarked on Raja’s dismissal as PCB chairman, stating, “I believe that cricketers should not be chairman of the PCB. Akram further added
Raja also warned that the fans of the Karachi Kings would lose patience if the team’s losing run persisted.
There will be random efforts by the crowd to infiltrate the stadium if you continue to lose home games. Raja remarked that it is soul-crushing for a supporter if their team cannot even chase a 160-run target. “To enter the stadium, a spectator must undergo numerous checks, and tickets are already pricey.
Kings will host Lahore Qalandars on Sunday at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi.
