The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has updated the office hours for government employees for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, following the moon’s non-sighting across Pakistan.
For offices operating on a five-day week schedule, the new hours will be from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM from Monday to Thursday, and from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Fridays. For those operating on a six-day week, the hours are set from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM from Monday to Thursday and Saturday, with Friday hours remaining the same.
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, led by Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, convened in Peshawar but did not observe the Ramadan moon in any part of the country, including major cities like Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. Consequently, Ramadan in Pakistan is set to begin on Sunday, March 2, 2025.

During this period, adherents abstain from food, drink, and impure thoughts from dawn until sunset, focusing on spiritual growth, charitable deeds, and community.
