YouTuber Rajab Butt was assaulted on Monday during a court appearance at the Karachi City Court, according to eyewitnesses and initial police accounts.
Rajab Butt had arrived at the court alongside Nadeem Naniwala to seek interim bail in a case registered against him. Witnesses said that shortly after he entered the court premises, a group of lawyers allegedly attacked him.
Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants beat the YouTuber, causing injuries to his jaw and mouth that led to bleeding. His clothes were also torn during the incident. Members of his legal team attempted to intervene but struggled to stop the assault as tensions escalated.

Officials confirmed that Rajab Butt is facing a blasphemy-related case registered at Haidery Police Station. He had already secured interim bail in that matter before Monday’s appearance.

— Naimat Khan (@NKMalazai) December 29, 2025Earlier this month, Rajab Butt returned to Pakistan via Islamabad International Airport after the UK Home Office cancelled his visa. Authorities cited the non-disclosure of cases registered against him in Pakistan as the reason for the cancellation.

Police said they are reviewing footage and statements to determine responsibility for the assault. No immediate arrests were announced.
