Punjab Announces Winter Vacation Schedule for Schools

The Punjab government has officially released the winter vacation schedule for schools nationwide.

Khalid Nazir Wattoo, Secretary of Schools Punjab, announced that the winter break will start on December 20, 2024, and end on January 10, 2025, giving students and staff a 20-day holiday.

This break comes after a busy academic term, providing essential rest and rejuvenation for students and teachers. It aligns with the festive season, enabling families to spend quality time together.

For students gearing up for board exams, this period is crucial for revision and consolidating their knowledge. Additionally, the colder months typically increase the risk of seasonal illnesses, so staying home can help maintain student health.

Secretary Wattoo highlighted the uniform vacation dates for public and private schools across Punjab, underlining the need for a balanced academic routine.

Parents should be advised to ensure a mix of leisure and study during the break, focusing on activities that promote health and reduce excessive screen time.

Schools will reopen on January 11, 2025, with teachers planning to review the syllabus and prepare students for forthcoming exams and assignments.
