Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Faisal Javed emerged on Monday to receive transit bail from the Peshawar High Court (PHC) following his disappearance post-May 9, 2023, events when military sites, including the Corps Commander House Lahore, were targeted after the detention of PTI founder Imran Khan.
Chief Justice Mohammad Ibrahim Khan of the PHC sanctioned Javed’s bail application, setting bail at Rs100,000 and mandating his court appearance.
Javed, speaking with reporters, expressed his relief at the bail grant and commented on the challenging times everyone is facing, expressing hope for the return of all those oppressed.
In related developments, the PHC Chief Justice also sanctioned transit bail for PTI’s nominee for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, and PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan, facing charges in various parts of the country, each against Rs100,000 bail bonds.
The aftermath of the May 9 incidents saw numerous PTI figures either absconding or incarcerated following the vandalism of state properties coinciding with Imran Khan’s arrest on corruption charges.
