The PTI negotiating committee has been granted permission to visit the party’s founder in Adiala Jail at 2:00 p.m. today. Last night, government authorities contacted PTI leadership to approve this meeting.
During their visit, the PTI’s negotiating committee, which comprises seven members, will consult the founder about the third round of dialogue with the government.
Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of the National Assembly, stated on Saturday that neither the opposition nor the government has approached him to arrange the next meeting of the negotiating committees. He emphasized that organizing the PTI negotiating committee’s meeting with the party’s founder is outside his responsibilities.

“The decision to allow the meeting rests with the government and its allies,” Sadiq mentioned. He informed Asad Qaiser on January 4 during a phone call that he had relayed PTI’s request for a jail meeting with the party founder to the government.
Sadiq added that he is prepared to convene a meeting of the negotiating committees promptly, with just one or two days’ notice, when the parties request it.
Responding to earlier criticism from PTI leaders, the Speaker clarified on Wednesday that his role is facilitating dialogue between the government and opposition, not arranging meetings for Imran Khan. He reiterated that coordinating such meetings is not part of his duties or responsibilities.
