Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) have demanded a judicial commission, headed by the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) to probe into the Panama Papers leaks allegations against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s family.
Addressing a joint press conference with JI Chief Sirajul Haq, PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi said, “PTI also calls for forensic audit for investigation into Panama leaks.”
Sirajul Haq said, “After law and order, corruption is the biggest problem in Pakistan.” “Militancy claimed over 60,000 lives in Pakistan, but corruption has affected 200 million people in the country,” said JI chief.
He said JI and PTI are on the same page for judicial commission to probe into Panama leaks allegations.
Siraj went on to say that it was moral obligation on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to relinquish his responsibilities and step down, adding that anyone else be made the Premier till results of investigation. He said the nation should be informed about the facts and investigation over Panama leaks.
