Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah said that he would consult Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on the appointment of Chief Election Commissioner.
In a press statement earlier today, Shah said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was yet to contact the opposition about the CEC’s appointment. “Government is delaying this issue,” he said.
About the existing political situation, Shah suggested that talks should be held with the Tehreek-e-Insaf.
The opposition leader said that all issues, including the formation of judicial commission, could be discussed if Imran Khan was willing.
He also pleaded for cooperation from PTI’s Imran Khan to (help) reduce the term of Parliament from five to four years.
