Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Khurram Sher Zaman has also filed nomination papers for the new Chief Minister of Sindh to contest the elections scheduled to be held on Friday (tomorrow). Ruling Pakistan People’s Party’s Syed Murad Ali Shah has also filed nomination papers for the election.
Pakistan Muslim League-Functional and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz would not field their candidates against the PPP candidate. PML-F chief Pir Pagara has also assured his support to Syed Murad Ali Shah.
The nomination papers could be received and submitted from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm today. After scrutiny of the nomination papers the final list of the candidates will be announced.
The election for the new Chief Minister Sindh will be held at 3:00 pm tomorrow. The newly-elected chief minister would then take oath of his office at the Governor s House on the same evening.
Pakistan People’s Party enjoys majority in the provincial legislature and could elect its leader of the house without support from any other party.
The second largest party of the house MQM holding a parliamentary meeting to decide on the matter.
Chief Minister-designate Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that the new Sindh cabinet would be announced after consultation with the party leadership.
