The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and franchise owners of Pakistan Super League (PSL) have agreed that PSL 8 matches in the city will go ahead as planned during a meeting following Friday’s attack on the headquarters of the Karachi Police.
Doubts over the future of the planned PSL 8 games in the metropolis have been raised following the attack on the Karachi Police Office (KPO) earlier today.
However, the PCB called an emergency meeting and brought together representatives of the franchise. In the Huddle, the Cricket Board took franchises in consultation with safety officials and the provincial government.
As a result, everyone agreed to continue the current edition of PSL in Karachi as planned. According to the schedule, Karachi Kings will face Quetta Gladiators today (Saturday) at National Bamk Cricket Arena. The Peshawar Zalmi team will also arrive in the metropolis today as planned.
Karachi will host back-to-back matches on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The last game in town will be on February 26.
It should be noted that Quetta and Lahore Qalandars were training at the city stadium at the time of the attack. Both teams remained in the stadium until the security check.
