Punjab Education and Sports Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said earlier today that  private schools in the province have agreed to withdraw increased fee challans with immediate effect.

He was addressing a press conference after meeting with the representatives of private school owners and Parents Association here at the Town Hall. Special Secretary Schools Ahmad Ali Kamboh and DCO Muhammad Usman were also present on the occasion.

The minister said the Punjab government had decided to conduct audit of the private schools to check their expenses and the fees increased during last three years.

“Unjustified increase in fees will not be tolerated and those students, who have paid new fees, will be refunded the excess charged amount.”

The minister said committees had been formed at district and provincial levels to monitor the process of audit by the third party, besides the overall fee as well as expenses schedule of the schools. The provincial committee, he said, would be headed by the Special Secretary Education Schools while the district coordination officers concerned would head the committees at district level.

He reiterated Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif’s resolve to provide quality and affordable education to every child of the province.
