On Thursday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif was accorded a guard of honor at the Presidential Zugulba Palace in Azerbaijan.
The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, warmly welcomed the premier upon his arrival, and a salute was presented to him by a contingent of the Azerbaijani armed forces.
Before this, PM Shehbaz Sharif laid a floral wreath on the mausoleum of Heydar Aliyev, Azerbaijan’s National Hero and first President. The premier also visited the martyr’s monument to honor those who died in service.
After these tributes, PM Sharif and President Aliyev met at the Presidential Palace. A delegation of Azerbaijani ministers also plans to meet with PM Sharif to discuss potential bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the trade and energy sectors.
