Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader, Senator Saeed Ghani held a meeting with former petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) Karachi.
Sources said the meeting held at a special ward of the facility and spanned over one and a half hour.
Sources added Saeed Ghani conveyed special message of PPP leadership to Dr Asim.
Last week, Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal also held a secret meeting with Dr Asim Hussain at JPMC and conveyed a special message of former president Asif Ali Zardari to him.
The minister told Dr Asim that Zardari had asked him to stay calm and directed him to stay in constant touch with senior Pakistan Peoples’ Party leaders. All legal matters pertaining to his release will be resolved soon.
Zardari and Dr Asim are childhood friends. In an exclusive interview with Geo News Zardari had said, “I called him ‘hare’. I was the one who motivated him to leave Nazimabad and shift to Defence. His arrest is only a tactic to pressurize the PPP.”
Dr Asim is being tried for assisting terrorists and corruption.
