Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leadership has finally decided to replace Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah.
According to a statement by party spokesperson Senator Farhatullah Babar, the decision was taken during a party meeting in Dubai on Sunday.
Farhatullah Babar said that the decision was taken when some senior leaders of the Party today called on former President Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in Dubai today.
Sindh chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah was also present in the meeting.
Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is scheduled to return to Karachi early in the week starting from Monday to meet provincial Party leaders and Party MPAs before finalizing changes in the Sindh cabinet.
Former President Asif Ali Zardari and PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari were present in the meeting along with CM Shah.
According to reports on social media, Syed Murad Ali Shah will take charge as the next provincial chief minister.
In yesterday’s session, the party had agreed that Rangers should be bound for a pre-action approval by the chief minister, and that the paramilitary troops shouldn’t be given policing powers for Karachi-like operation in Sindh interior.
The PPP top brass also discussed party’s recent defeat in Azad Kashmir elections, as well as talks with the government over Panama Leaks investigation.
