Polling for LB elections underway in certain districts of Punjab, Sindh

 The polling in 44 union councils of Sindh and 57 of Punjab for Local Bodies election where polls were postponed earlier is currently underway today (Thursday).

The polling began at 7:30AM and will continue till 5:30PM in 21 districts of Punjab and 15 districts of Sindh.

Twenty-one districts of Punjab include Lahore, Qasur, Nanka Sahib, Okara, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, Attock, Bakhar, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Gujrat, Vihari, Bahawalnagar, Chiniot, Gujranwala, Khanewal, Sialkot, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rahim Yar Khan and Narowal.

Sindh includes Khairpur, Ghotki, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Shikarpur, Qambar-Shahdadkot, Hyderabad, Noshero Feroz, Tando Allayar, Tharparkar, Thatta, Sajawal, Mirpur Khan and Karachi East and Karachi West.

The Election Commission of Pakistan has postponed re-polling in Sanghar and Badin districts scheduled for today on the request of Sindh government. The new date for elections will be issued after law and order situation improved.

The electoral body has adopted all necessary measures for peaceful and transparent polling process.
