Islamabad Police have booked an official of the Prime Minister’s Secretariat after he supposedly trespassed into the house of a woman he had befriended on social media.

Naseem Khan, who the police said was a protocol officer for the prime minister, befriended a woman on Facebook and got her mobile phone number.

The woman* told Bhara Kahu police on Sunday that she used to talk to and text Khan.

She said Khan passed on her number to other guys, and that she was annoyed by unwanted calls.

Police said Khan went to the woman’s house where he was allegedly beaten up by her brothers on Sunday.

According to the police report, Khan returned along with a few other men and trespassed into the house. The inmates, according to police report said that the men initially fired at the house as well as in the air, when they locked themselves in.

The family and the neighbours called the police, who arrived, and took Khan into custody.

Police said the suspect had suffered injuries, and was taken to Polyclinic hospital under police custody.

Police have booked Khan for endangering human life and safety of others through negligence, trespass, as well as causing damage to property.

Bhara Kahu SDPO Arif Hussain confirmed the suspect worked as PM’s protocol officer.  SHO Haq Nawaz Ranjha said Khan worked at the PID.
