Federal Minister for Information Pervaiz Rashid earlier yesterday said that the Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif will respond to questions raised by the opposition in the National Assembly session today (Monday). He criticised those who were raising a hue and cry over offshore companies themselves owned such firms.
Talking to the media in Lahore, he said that people should wait for Nawaz’s speech in which he will respond to questions of the opposition and other parliamentarians. He added that three quarters of the opposition wanted to hear the PM’s speech.
The opposition had last week prepared seven questions for the prime minister to answer on the floor of the assembly.
To a question on the terms of references for a commission to probe the Panama leaks, Rashid said the government will welcome any call for dialogue from the opposition.
Responding to another query, the information minister said the PM’s entire life was an open book and he regularly submitted his income tax returns.
He added that those accusing Nawaz of having offshore companies had been exposed as they owned such companies themselves.
Rashid said that all the national institutions, including the armed forces, were on the same page.
