Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Zhu Zhejiang, founder of Transsion Holdings, in Shenzhen on Wednesday.
The meeting focused on potential investments in Pakistan, particularly mobile manufacturing, electric bikes, modern agriculture, and fintech.
Prime Minister Sharif emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to facilitating foreign investors. He encouraged Transsion to manufacture and export products from Pakistan.
Zhu briefed the Prime Minister on Transsion’s operations in Pakistan, global exports, and future investment plans. He mentioned that Transsion’s existing unit in Pakistan employs over 5,000 people daily.
Transsion wants to expand its mobile phone production in Pakistan to boost exports.
Federal ministers, including Ishaq Dar and Khawaja Asif, and leaders from Pakistan’s mobile phone industry, such as Inovi Telecom CEO Zeeshan Mianoor, attended the meeting.
Their presence highlighted efforts to grow Pakistan’s mobile phone industry and increase local manufacturing and exports with China’s support.
