Islamabad: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has claimed that load-shedding will end in next three years.
The PM asserted this in National Assembly while replying to points raised by Nawab Ali Wassan of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
The PM said that there would be no load-shedding in Pakistan after three years, saying that work on different energy projects was underway rapidly, including coal-based power project in Thar and Port Qasim and Hub projects.
He claimed that 18-hour load-shedding was not being carried out anywhere in the country.
He announced that motorways would be constructed in KPK, Sindh and Balochistan as well to provide better facilities to the people.
The PM said work on Hyderabad-Karachi section of Lahore-Karachi Motorway has begun, adding that work on Hyderabad-Sukkur section will also be completed, expressing confidence that the projects would complete in three years.
Pledging to make Gwadar best port of the country, the PM said legislation would be held to make the port duty-free.
Nawaz Sharif told the house that Rs.30 billion have been allocated for western route of Pakistan-China Economic Corridor (PCEC) project.
