PM Nawaz to open Metro for business today

Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif will inaugurate the much awaited Metro Bus Service (MBS) on Thursday.

All arrangements have been completed in this regard by the CDA, RDA and other concerned authorities.

The inaugural ceremony would take place at Convention Centre Islamabad at 11:00am and prominent leaders including Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Shahbaz Sharif and ministers would participate in the ceremony.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, federal and provincial ministers as well as other officials will also take a ride on a bus from Secretariat till Saddar Rawalpindi

As many as 10 foreign ambassadors have also been invited for the event. Metro bus stations have been adorned before the ceremony.

Strict security measures have been employed for the inauguration ceremony. A heavy contingent of law enforcing men will guard the route from Islamabad till Saddar Murree Road.

Islamabad has 14 metro bus terminals whereas 10 stations have been made in Rawalpindi. Only Rs 20 would be charged for a 20 km journey. On the other hand, the administration has arranged at least 66 buses for this purpose.

Moreover, an 18-acre depot has also been made.
