Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is due to arrive in Karachi today (Wednesday) on a day long visit aimed at reviewing the maga-city’s law-and-order situation.

The PM will preside over a high-level meeting that will be attended by Chief Minister, Governor and heads of police and the paramilitary Rangers at the Governor House.

In the meeting, sources said, the PM would be briefed over progress into ongoing operation against criminals in the city.

The PM is also scheduled to visit Karachi Stock Exchange besides his meeting with traders and political leaders.

Yesterday in his meeting with the ruling Party’s MNAs, the Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over ‘considerable reduction’ in crimes in Karachi what he called a result of anti-criminal crackdown by Rangers and police.

The PM has vowed to carry on the ongoing action till complete elimination of outlaws, saying that his government would not compromise on peace in the city that is hub of Pakistan’s economy.
