Nawaz Sharif has called an important meeting on Sunday to discuss the attempted assassination of Hamid Mir on Sharah-e-Faisal, Karachi on Saturday. The Prime Minister will chair the meeting with senior cabinet members and advisers to “discuss” the matter.
The senior journalist was on his way from the airport to his office, he came under attack and received multiple gunshot wounds and was bleeding profusely.
The driver didn’t lose his senses and kept driving in spite of the ambush and rushed him to the AKUH Hospital. After surgery he is out of critical state. Sindh government announced a reward worth Rs.5 million for any informent who may help reveal the identity of the assailants.
