Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif gave away a cheque of Rs. 5 million to a Pakistani mountaineer, Hassan Sadpara, in recognition of his services for the promotion of mountaineering in Pakistan.
Sadpara has climbed all 8000-meter-plus peaks in Pakistan, including K-2.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the new Gilgit-Baltistan government must promote unity across sectarian and political divisions and conduct operations transparently and merit, in line with the PML-N manifesto.
The Prime Minister instructed that initiatives to offer the most significant advantages to the region’s residents must be prioritized and carried out according to strict deadlines.
He also stated that the federal government would provide all necessary support.
Members of the delegation informed the Prime Minister that the people of Gilgit-Baltistan are pleased with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, which will revolutionize the area by generating more employment opportunities and bringing prosperity to the people.
