PM announces day of mourning after Gilgit crash

Islamabad: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced a day of mourning after a helicopter carrying foreign delegation comprising ambassadors of different countries crashed in the Naltar valley of Gilgit area.

Prime Minister expressed grief on the unfortunate incident and announced a day of mourning in the wake of loss.

Planes and helicopters were disaptched on the instructions of Prime Minister to bring back the injured diplomats.

Arrangements to bring back the dead bodies of the victims have also been completed.

Security sources confirmed that ambassadors of 50 countries were en route to Naltar valley in three helicopters when one of the MI-17 helicopters developed a fault in tail rotor and crashed on a school building during landing.
