In view of the devastating earthquake that shook the country on Monday, Pakistan International Airline (PIA) has offered free transportation of relief goods not only from domestic but also international destinations if the federal government and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) demand it.

A spokesperson for the national flag carrier said that PIA employees were with the people affected by the earthquake.

He said: “Pakistan International Airlines is ready to provide assistance, if necessary for the people of earthquake affected areas.”

The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting held at the PIA’s head office. Presided over by PIA Chairman Nasser N.S. Jaffer, the meeting assessed the situation and discussed the possibility of establishing collection points for relief goods and their transportation.
