A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight veered off its intended route, but air traffic control swiftly guided it back, preventing any emergency.
PIA flight PK 536, en route from Karachi to Sukkur, experienced a deviation due to a navigation system malfunction. The air traffic controller quickly notified the flight crew, effectively redirecting them to the correct path.
The captain confirmed the malfunction and described the issues with the navigation system. Under air traffic control’s guidance, the flight safely returned to Karachi airport.
Previously, PIA initiated special flights to Najaf, Iraq, for Ashura pilgrims, commemorating Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA)’s martyrdom. This operation, named “Operation Ashura,” began on July 5, with additional flights on July 7 and July 11.
These flights are designed to transport pilgrims to and from Najaf securely. Return flights are scheduled to commence on July 20 and continue on July 21 and July 25 to bring pilgrims back from Najaf.
