On Saturday, a Physics paper was leaked on social media 40 minutes before its scheduled start time. Additionally, a solved examination paper from the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) was circulating in WhatsApp groups.
Since the matric board exams commenced on May 7, there have been numerous reports of malpractices, including the leaking of papers before the exams.
Overcrowding was reported at some examination centres, with some students having to sit on the ground due to a lack of seating.
In response to these issues, the Department of Sindh Boards and Universities instructed the BSEK chairman to address these malpractices.
On May 7, the day the grades 9 and 10 exams began, the computer science paper for 9th grade was also reportedly leaked on social media. A BSEK spokesperson stated that it was unclear whether the paper circulating was authentic.
Students were advised against bringing mobile phones to the exam venues, with the BSEK chairman emphasizing that any phones found would be confiscated.
The science group’s exams are held during the morning shift, while the general groups are scheduled for the afternoon.
This year, BSEK issued online admit cards, enabling students to locate the examination centres listed on the cards easily.
