Finance Minister Ishaq Dar announced an Rs10/ litre reduction in petrol price on Thursday.
The finance minister announced the price cut and claimed that it is done to “provide maximum” relief to the masses, per Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Finance Minister Ishaq Dar announced a reduction in the price of petrol, kerosene, and high-speed diesel.
After the cut in gasoline rates, petrol will cost Rs214.80 per ltr, high-speed diesel will cost Rs227.80 per ltr, light diesel will cost Rs169 per ltr, and kerosene oil will cost Rs171.83 per ltr.
The finance czar mentioned that since the start new fiscal year 2022 -23 (October- December) the prices have cumulatively declined by:
- Rs22.63 per liter in petrol price
- Rs19.63 per liter in the price of high-speed diesel
- Rs28.28 per liter in the price of light diesel oil
- Rs30.19 per liter in the price of kerosene oil
