Pervez Khattak, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentarians, has recorded a statement against Imran Khan in the 190 million pounds reference case.

Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Ali Warraich presided over the 190 million pounds reference hearing in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi. Former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, were in the courtroom. During the hearing, former Federal Minister of Defense Pervez Khattak appeared in court and recorded his statement.

While recording his statement, Pervez Khattak mentioned that in May 2023, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) took his statement regarding the reference. Shahzad Akbar had informed the cabinet that a significant amount of money illegally sent abroad from Pakistan was seized in the UK and would be returned to Pakistan.

Khattak stated that this issue was not initially on the cabinet’s agenda but was introduced as an additional item. Several cabinet members, including himself, objected to this matter. However, documents regarding the funds were presented to the cabinet in sealed envelopes, and the additional agenda was approved. Later, the reference’s investigating officer informed him that a written document was associated with the approved agenda.

During the hearing, one witness’s statement was recorded, and cross-examination of another witness was completed before the court adjourned the reference hearing until July 13.
