Perth Scorchers clinched their sixth Big Bash League title after defeating the Sydney Sixers by six wickets in the BBL 15 final at Optus Stadium on Sunday.
Chasing a modest target of 133, the Scorchers reached 133 for four in 17.3 overs, powered by a composed innings from Mitchell Marsh, who scored 44 from 43 balls.
Marsh set the tone immediately by pulling the first ball of the innings for six. He combined aggressively with Finn Allen, who dominated early proceedings and attacked Mitchell Starc in a 19-run over.
Allen’s fluent 36 ended when Jack Edwards pulled off a stunning one-handed catch near the boundary. Despite rain threats and brief resistance from the Sixers, Marsh controlled the tempo before falling to Sean Abbott.

Earlier, the Scorchers dominated with the ball after choosing to field first. David Payne and Jhye Richardson shared six wickets to restrict the Sixers to 132 in 20 overs.
Payne finished with figures of 3 for 18, while Mahli Beardman impressed late, claiming two wickets and executing a run-out in the final over. The Optus Stadium crowd of 55,018 erupted when Steve Smith departed for 24 after an lbw review by Aaron Hardie.
Sixers captain Moises Henriques survived multiple run-out chances but eventually fell for 24, unable to lift the scoring rate. The innings never recovered, leaving the Scorchers with a manageable chase.
