The Provincial Disasters Management Authority (PDMA) has alerted us of an impending spell of rain and snow across Balochistan from today until February 27.
In communications with the region’s deputy commissioners, the PDMA underscored the necessity of preparatory actions in light of the MET office’s forecasts for substantial precipitation and snowfall through February 27.
Travelers are urged to proceed cautiously due to the risk of landslides potentially obstructing roads.
Additionally, a separate notification for KP highlights an expected period of rain and snow from February 25 to 27. District authorities have received guidance to enact precautionary strategies in anticipation of the forecasted weather conditions.
Muhammad Qaiser Khan, the PDMA’s Director General, noted the likelihood of landslides in KP’s higher districts due to the forthcoming snow and rain. He said, “We have directed district officials to guarantee the readiness of minor and major machinery.” Furthermore, the DG of PDMA counselled the community to maintain a safe distance from electrical lines, unstable structures, and outdoor signage.
