Pattoki Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Punjab faces serious scrutiny after a viral video exposed alarming negligence in its emergency services.

The video shows a sweeper named Abid performing medical procedures such as stitching wounds and dressing injuries due to the lack of qualified medical staff.

In the footage reported by ARY News, Abid is seen assisting a female patient, highlighting the hospital’s critical emergency care conditions. The video has garnered widespread outrage from citizens, who have condemned the shortage of medications and the lack of routine emergency staff.

Residents allege that despite receiving substantial government funds, the hospital remains under-equipped and mismanaged, raising serious concerns about corruption. The Punjab government is now under increasing pressure to address these issues. Citizens are urging Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to take immediate action and hold those responsible accountable.

This incident follows another case of alleged negligence at Gangaram Hospital in Lahore, where an infant girl suffered severe burns due to a malfunctioning incubator. The baby’s father, Rafaqat Ali, claimed that the hospital staff was uncooperative and even expelled him from the nursery when he questioned their actions. He has appealed to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for justice and a thorough investigation.

Tragically, this is not an isolated incident. In 2023, an infant died at Lahore’s Children’s Hospital after being exposed to overheating in an incubator, highlighting a pattern of negligence in Punjab’s healthcare system.
