Pashto singer, actress Musarrat Shaheen shot dead in Nowshehra

Musarrat Shaheen, a Pashto singer and drama actress, was gunned down on Wednesday in Nowshehra.

According to police, the attack took place at Shobra Chowk, Nowshehra.

Mussarat, 24, on her way with mother to a store for purchasing groceries, when they were intercepted by unknown gunmen on motorcyles near Shobra Chowk.

In her first information report (FIR) of the incident, Perveen Bibi, mother, said that the gunmen fired on them multiple times. The attack killed Shaheen on the spot while Parveen narrowly escaped. The assailants managed to flee after the attack.

Mussarat acted in local dramas which were sold on computer discs.

Police have filed a case against unknown assailants and launched a probe.
