Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, head of the Global Sikh Federation, accused Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi of orchestrating a hoax in the recent Pahalgam terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir.
In an exclusive ARY News interview on April 27, 2025. Pannun claimed the attack, which prompted India to revoke visas for Pakistani nationals, was a “false flag operation” led by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval to advance Modi’s “Hindutva agenda.”
Expressing solidarity with Pakistan, Pannun praised its significance as the resting place of Guru Nanak, a sacred Sikh site. He opposed any Indian military presence in Punjab, stating, “We will not allow Modi’s agenda or the Indian military to pass through Punjab.” Pannun also alleged India exports terrorism globally, referencing an unverified claim of an assassination attempt against him in the US.
Pannun condemned India’s actions in Kashmir, urging global protests outside Indian embassies and claiming the Kashmiri struggle for freedom mirrors Sikh resilience. He labelled Modi a “terrorist,” citing the 2002 Gujarat riots, and called for Pakistan to take a stronger stance against India. These claims remain unverified and highly controversial.
