Pakkay Dost Season 3, a children’s puppet show made by musician Bilal Maqsood, was launched at the Arts Council of Pakistan in Karachi. The show is now available in Urdu and Sindhi. It aims to teach kids important values like kindness, honesty, and friendship through fun stories and characters.
Bilal Maqsood shared his vision at the event. He said that Urdu content for children has been missing for the last 30–35 years. “The first seven years shape a child’s mind,” he said. “We cannot control how much time kids spend watching screens, but we can make sure what they watch teaches our culture and values.”
Maqsood highlighted the show’s high-quality production. This includes music, lighting, puppets, and set design, to match popular children’s shows worldwide. “Kids should think, ‘This show is cool, the puppets are cool, and Urdu is cool,’” he said. The Sindhi version, requested by Sindh Culture Minister Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, helps children connect with their local language and traditions.

Minister Shah praised Pakkay Dost for filling a gap in children’s programming. He suggested dubbing the show in other languages like Balochi, Punjabi, and Pashto. “This show could become known internationally,” he added. The Sindh government gave a grant to support Season 3’s production.
Hum TV Network President Sultana Siddiqui expressed happiness about the project. She said it is hard to find sponsors for children’s shows. “I’m glad the Sindh government is supporting Pakkay Dost,” she said.
Clips from Seasons 1, 2, and the new Season 3, including the Sindhi version, were shown and warmly welcomed by the audience.
Arts Council President Ahmed Shah called the show a “fascinating project.” He praised Maqsood for focusing on children’s content over his music career. Maqsood also introduced his team, including actor Syra Yousuf, showing their team effort. Pakkay Dost promotes cultural pride and positive values. This makes it an important addition to children’s entertainment in Pakistan.
