Railway Minister Shahid Ashraf Tarar has officially launched the ‘RABTA’ mobile application, a new step towards enhancing the travel experience of railway passengers in Pakistan. This application marks a significant shift in how passengers can organize their journeys using technology.
The ‘RABTA’ app, short for Railway Automated Booking and Travel Assistance, is designed to transform the passenger experience by offering a range of convenient features. According to the PR spokesperson, this application allows passengers to plan their trips from home, covering various aspects of their journey.
In a social media announcement, PR Secretary Mazhar Ali Shah described RABTA as an innovative platform to revolutionize journey planning and experience.
Initial Rollout and Future Expansion Plans
Currently, the app integrates three trains, including the Greenline train (Islamabad-Karachi-Islamabad) and two railcars (Lahore-Islamabad-Lahore), with plans to expand further. The RABTA app facilitates ticket booking and offers services for booking hotels, taxis, and meals, ensuring a comprehensive and enjoyable travel experience for PR passengers.
The ministry has expressed its commitment to link the remaining trains with the RABTA application shortly, aiming to enhance the overall efficiency and comfort of railway travel in Pakistan.
