For the first time, Pakistan is poised to carve its niche in the coveted Miss Universe pageant, as five models from the country are set to compete in this prestigious global event. This groundbreaking participation, with the models being chosen from an impressive roster of over 200 global applicants, represents a momentous occasion in the pageant’s history. The contestants, showcasing international appeal, graced a spectacular photo shoot in the Maldives, where they were styled in outfits designed by the renowned Filipino designer Fern One.
Josh Ugen, the mastermind behind this initiative and the leader of the Dubai-based Yugin Group, has facilitated this significant journey. The group, which also manages the Miss Universe franchises in Bahrain and Egypt, has partnered with the voting app Choisely to enable fans worldwide to support their favorite contestants, potentially influencing the final scores in the competition.
The crowning event, a notable segment of a month-long celebration with participation from over 60 countries, is slated for Thursday at 7 PM UAE time, to be broadcast on the Miss Universe YouTube channel. The grand finale scheduled for November 18 will see the present title holder, Urbani Nola Gabriel from America, bequeathing her crown to a deserving successor. Among the contenders representing Pakistan are Erica Rabin, Hira Inam, Jessica Wilson, Malika Alvi, and Sabrina Wasim.
