68th Independence Day is being celebrated today with national enthusiasm across Pakistan.
Pakistan was liberated from British colonial rule and Hindu dominance on 14th August 1947.
The day dawned with a 31-gun salute in the federal capital and 21-gun salutes in the provincial capitals.
Flag-hoisting ceremonies will also be held at provincial capitals and district headquarters besides other important national institutions.

Private , official buildings, including Parliament House are decorated.
On this special occasion, the prime minister and president address and congratulated the nation.
A change of guard took place at the mausoleums of father of the nation Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal (national poet).
