PPP Co-chairman and former president of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari said earlier yesterday that “Pakistanis as a nation could not afford to live in isolation and advised politicians to safeguard the interests of Pakistan”. He was addressing a reception in his honour hosted by PPP Central Punjab President Mian Manzoor Wattoo
Zardari also announced setting up a relief fund for martyrs and those injured in Indian firing at the Line of Control.
He also stated that mere ‘good looks’ could not attract foreign investment or build trust of other countries. He said that “a roadmap was needed to run a country like Pakistan and to protect its interests”.
He also added that the next finance minister of the PPP government would come from the business community so as to address the grievances of the community.
