Shaheen Afridi struck early, dismissing Rahmanullah Gurbaz in the opening over. Spinner Abrar Ahmed removed Sediqullah Atal, leaving Afghanistan at 28/2 in the fifth.
Nawaz then changed the game in the sixth and eighth overs. He dismissed Darwish Rasooli and Azmatullah Omarzai with consecutive balls, and on the first ball of his next over, completed a hat-trick by bowling Ibrahim Zadran. Nawaz snared Karim Jannat two balls later, reducing Afghanistan to 32/6.
Abrar and Sufiyan Muqeem supported Nawaz with two wickets each, while Shaheen Afridi added one. Afghanistan was all out for 66.

Sahibzada Farhan fell in the first over, but Saim Ayub and Fakhar Zaman rebuilt with a solid 48-run stand. Fakhar scored 27, and Saim made 17. Salman Agha contributed 24, while Hasan Nawaz hit a quick 15. Mohammad Nawaz, key with the ball, also scored an important 25 runs.
