Pakistan has developed a new countermeasure against cross-border drone threats. The system, named the Sufra drone jamming gun, was unveiled at the Karachi Maritime Expo.
Officials from the manufacturing company state the device can disable kamikaze drones and their controllers at a range of 1.5 kilometres. It is designed for deployment along national borders and at major public events to enhance security.
The Sufra jammer, produced at the National Electronics Complex, was demonstrated successfully at the expo. According to company manager Hamza Khalid, the system operates effectively within a 30-degree cone, which can be adjusted for tactical needs.

Within this operational envelope, the jammer has two primary functions:
- Seize control of an incoming drone and force it to land.
- Render both the drone and its remote control inoperable.
When asked about attacks involving multiple drones, Khalid assured that the system is designed to handle saturation threats. He stated it has the capability to neutralise numerous hostile drones simultaneously.
