The Global Islamic Finance Awards (GIFA) has honoured the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) with the ‘Best Islamic Stock Exchange Award 2023’, marking the third year PSX has clinched this recognition. The prestigious GIFA platform, which has acknowledged remarkable achievements in Islamic banking and finance since 2011, applauded PSX for its dedication to advancing Islamic finance initiatives and its commitment to social responsibility.
Reacting to this honour, PSX’s Managing Director and CEO, Farrukh H Khan, expressed the organization’s pride in receiving this award again, crediting its persistent excellence in Islamic financial products and regulatory enhancements. Khan highlighted that the PSX houses 251 Shariah-compliant firms, which constitute over 65% of the total market capitalization, offering a prominent avenue for investors seeking Islamic financial offerings and aiding corporations and the government in securing funds from capital markets. He extended his gratitude to GIFA, attributing this achievement to the support and guidance from the SECP, the PSX board, and the management team.
